Akamas Peninsula

Off the beaten track - nature routes

The Akamas National Park is possibly the most picturesque corner of the island. It’s where you will find wild landscape, amazing natural beauty, deep gorges, and wide sandy bays…

Avakas gorge; masterpiece of nature is located at the start of the Akamas peninsula. It is A natural wonder of the Paphos region and one of the best places to visit in Cyprus, especially for people who love walking as it offers magnificent nature and stunning views, including rich local flora and fauna.

The Avakas gorge was created by raging stream which was flowing over the limestone for thousands of years, creating walls up to 30 meters in height and magnificent rock formations and is 3km long. Due to the formations of the rocks and by being so narrow, the gorge is considered as a difficult hike.

Lara Beach is another fantastic stop, when exploring the Akamas, this beautiful beach, with clear shallow waters, is a protected area. Lara is the birth ground of the green turtle. The only real habitats are wild goats, birds and turtles.

Last, but not least is the Blue Lagoon, arguably one of the most beautiful spots on the island. Ideal for swimmers and snorkelers alike, this cove of Crystal blue and aqua waters is best accessed by a short boat trip.

Take advantage of everything the Akamas Peninsula has to offer by booking one of our excursions, whether a jeep safari or a boat trip, it is sure to be the highlight of any holiday!
